Meet the girls
Dolly and Sugi are the bigger girls; tiny Periwinkle surprised everybody by being the star of the first forest walk. The girls already respond to the bucket cue, “Let’s go, girls,” and are learning to move calmly as a team.
Meet the boys
Thor is our future herd buck. Loki is his companion wether, loyal shadow and occasional shirt-tugging reminder that manners are a long-term project. They are learning leash work, boundaries and calm movement before they become full-size goats.
The long game
We are building toward targeted grazing for brush management and wildfire-fuel reduction. Before the herd works away from home, we are testing fencing, water, transport, plant safety, repeat grazing and emergency plans on our own land.
Our two smaller pygmy-type goats are joining the cleanup team too. Small goats, as it turns out, have no objection to a big assignment.
